What We Believe
What is our philosophy and approach?
At Snap Academics, our students gain admission to a wide array of colleges and universities, including highly selective public and private institutions. However, our primary goal extends beyond just securing spots at prestigious schools. We emphasize that success in college admissions is not about getting into a 'top' school, but about finding the right school where each student can flourish. We are committed to helping each student find the right-match college, a place where they will thrive academically, socially, and personally. Our approach moves away from the binary notion of "good schools" and "bad schools." Instead, we focus on finding the "right school for you." We believe that the best educational environment for a student is one that aligns with their individual goals, interests, and learning style. This personalized approach ensures that our students are not just admitted to colleges but are admitted to colleges where they will be most successful and fulfilled.
Selecting a college and navigating the application process can be a complex and often stressful experience for high school students and their families. It's a time when young adults confront significant questions about their values, ambitions, and future. Questions like, “What do I really want from my college experience?”, “Am I choosing this college for myself or due to external pressures?”, and “Does the prestige of my college determine my future success and happiness?” become central.
Inspired by the principles in Frank Bruni's "Where You Go Is Not Who You'll Be" and the ethos of "Colleges That Change Lives," we emphasize that the value of a college education is not solely in its name or prestige, but in how well it aligns with a student's unique passions, interests, and learning style.
How is Snap Academics Different?
Here's the truth: no private college counseling service can guarantee admission to any college. We understand that college admissions teams seek diversity in skills, experiences, and backgrounds. There are no shortcuts or secret formulas. Our mantra is: Focus on presenting your authentic self, create the best application you can at this time in your life, and let go of the aspects of admissions you can't control.
What Do Pre-College Teens Need?
Young people need guidance and support as they navigate these complex questions. They need confidence that the college selection and application process is within their reach. At Snap Academics, we provide patient, informed guidance, offering perspective and advice. Our goal is to empower students to submit applications that truly reflect their strengths and experiences, without taking over the process for them. We serve as teachers, counselors, essay coaches, and process managers, helping students create applications they can be proud of.
What Do Parents and Guardians Need?
Parents seek to understand the college application and financial aid timeline, ensuring no crucial deadlines are missed. The process, with its many layers and details, can be overwhelming. Parents aim to support and advise their children in making these pivotal decisions, but the logistics can sometimes lead to tension. At Snap Academics, we strive to alleviate these pressures, allowing parents to focus on providing the big-picture support their children need.
